NEW!! |

The
following Block of the Month series are ideal for people who just like
to try out new patterns, techniques, and fabrics. I send 4 fat eighths
with every block so you will be able to make it in two or three colour
combinations. There are no definite finishing instructions but every 10 blocks or so - I'll send some ideas for assembly. Make these as large or small as you like. Set them straight or on point. Combine series, or combine with other blocks you have on hand. Background fabric is NOT INCLUDED, so I recommend using something basic like muslin that you will be able to re-order if you run out. |

The
Classic
![]() This is a collection of traditional patterns, some pieced, some appliquéd, some both. It starts with very basic blocks and works up to more complicated ones and is structured like a 'learn to quilt' correspondence course. This is great for beginners. The variety will introduce you to all aspects of patchwork, and directions will be given to make the block the easiest way possible. Blocks and fabrics are chosen for their look and their ability to combine with other blocks with or without sashing. - 12 inch blocks. There will be lots of variety - part of learning to quilt is learning to combine different colours and patterns. Each month you'll get 1/2 yard of quality fabric (in fat quarters and/or fat eighths) along with the directions. You'll have plenty of fabric to make the block in at least 2 different colour combinations. - Blocks shown are not necessarily the blocks used. |

Patch Sampler
There are a lot of great 5 patch blocks. Unfortunately it takes a math whiz and phenomenal measuring skills to do a 12" 5 -patch. The answer? - - Do a 5 patch sampler with 10" finished size squares. Each month you'll get 1/2 yard of quality fabric (in fat quarters and/or fat eighths) along with the directions. You'll have plenty of fabric to make the block in at least 2 different colour combinations. -

Ohio Star
If you want to try a sampler quilt but arent sure how to tie the blocks together, try this series. Each month you get a different 6 inch block along with the fabric to turn it into a 12 inch Ohio Star. This allows you to get blocks in your sampler that ordinarily dont blend...like log cabins. Each month you'll get 1/2 yard of quality fabric (in fat quarters and/or fat eighths) along with the directions. You'll have plenty of fabric to make the block in at least 2 different colour combinations. -

The Jane Series -
A New England lady named Jane A Stickle completed what I think is the ultimate sampler quilt in 1863. It has over 5,000 pieces arranged into 169 -4 1/2" blocks and a border of 52 triangle blocks. If you want to sew your own heirloom... sign up for this series. There will be four blocks offered each month. The fabrics will be 1800's reproductions. Some of the patterns will be from the original quilt. Others will be those I think Jane herself would have chosen if she had access to the block libraries we do. Each month you'll get 1/2 yard of fabric (in fat eighths and/or fat sixteenths) along with the directions. You'll have plenty of fabric to make the blocks. #BJ4 - Four Blocks
- Shown with 108 blocks - the series will go to 165 blocks (41 sets) I recommend my standard medium weight, 60"
wide, unbleached muslin.
Start off with a yard for $6.50 .... and just let me know when you need more. Take a look at the Jane A. Stickle quilt. (Its big and may take some time to load.) |

My goal is to develop the easiest, most foolproof method of assembling the blocks we offer. Paper foundations are provided for some blocks. Paper templates are provided for appliqué.
* I test all new fabrics before using - if they pass I include them unwashed as they are easier to work with that way.
If you enroll, you will automatically get the new installment for each series every month until you cancel. If you come across a block or fabric you really like, just contact me to buy the extra you need.
